National Day of Prayer 2008
|
|
The 57th Annual National Day of Prayer took place Thursday,
May 1, 2008. Millions united in prayer as thousands of events took place from coast to coast. Reports are still coming in as communities came together to pray. Transformation is taking place around America! The theme for this year is "Prayer! America's Strength and Shield" and is based on the verse from Psalm 28:7 which states: "The Lord is my strength and shield; my heart trusts in Him and I am helped."
Dr. Ravi Zacharias challenged the nation to pray as the 2008 Honorary Chairman of the National Day of Prayer.
Planning is already underway to celebrate the 2009 National Day of Prayer which will take place on May 7.

NDP at NASCAR again!

The Furniture Row #78 CUP program, sporting the NDP paint scheme was on the track again at Talladega Motor Speedway on April 27, 2008, for the NASCAR Aaron's 499 Cup. This was the 3rd year the NDP car was featured at Talladega. The special edition red, white and blue #78 was driven by Joe Nemechek. On Saturday, April 26, he qualified 1st overall on the pole. He took the track on Sunday racing hard to the very end. He finished 25th (out of 43). The National Day of Prayer team thanks Furniture Row Racing, Jay Guy, Joe Garone, Joe Nemechek, Barney Visser and the whole crew for their hard work and dedication. The National Day of Prayer #78 has been a huge success as it serves as a great reminder to millions of Americans to pray on May 7, 2009.
